As Young Adults, we all remember the time, as children, when Harry Potter made its debut and how stoked we were to get such a great series that came from even better books. Typically, books tend to be better than the movies because…well… nothing is ever as good as the books.
Sadly, the amazing films that took you off to another world, as well as had you wishing you could be a wizard too, came to an end with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt. 2
in 2011. Since then we have been caught up on “Harry Potter Weekends” thanks to Freeform or the occasional inclusion on HBO, Starz, etc.
THEN J.K Rowling blessed all of her fan base with the screenplay of Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them , becoming a movie in 2016. Everyone was so excited and overcome with joy that we were able to dive back into the wizarding world! Although the main location of the film takes place outside of the wizarding world, that is just the beginning. We have learned that this series will be a five film installment over the next seven years with the last one releasing in 2024.
At the end of the first film, we find out that Johnny Depp will be playing the role of Gellert Grindelwald and are left with the cliff hanger of who will be playing young Dumbledore. Well, just yesterday we were given the news that it will be none other than Jude Law. So at this exciting news, lets take a look back at the iconic rolls that Jude Law has stared in.
- The Holiday (2006)- How could you NOT love a fantastically done romantic comedy?
- Spy (2015) – Melissa McCarthy AND Jude Law, how does it get any better?
- Sherlock Holmes (2009)- How could you not be a fan of the Robert Downey Jr. and Jude Law duo.
Although he has appeared in many more films over the years, those are some you should check out if you ever need a Jude Law fix (how could you not love that accent…). With all the excitement has happened within the last 24 hours surrounding the Fantastic Beast and Where to Find Them sequel, it only seems appropriate to grab some popcorn, a blanket, as well as some friends and pop a squat on your couch over this long weekend.
